Homework

Planned Activities Simulation

  • Choose three short activities (10 minutes each) to use with small groups.
  • One each about number, shape (pattern, space and measurement), and problem solving or data handling.
  • These can be drawn your practice journal or from other sources.

You will be expected to deliver one activity for each section (a total of 3 activities) to a group of 3 of peers and you will be observed.

This will be in Session 25 - June 24th.

Your preparation for this should include a plan identifying learning outcomes, resources to be used, and timings. This is to be handed in on June 24th.

Why it is important

  • broadens and enhances children's command of literacy skills by providing them with a range of different contexts in which to use and practise these skills
  • embeds the teaching of the literacy skills which are central to the language of a particular subject within that subject
  • enhances the learning of the subject itself and the attitudes of children towards that learning.
