When to use this book

Use with a child who likes funny pictures with quite clearly defined action. The story is simple but engaging. Baby bird's determination is easy for the child to identify with. Language structure is repetitive. Ideal to use when favoured cues are meaning and strucutre.

Introduction

Baby bird really wants to fly and he's not going to let anyone or anything stop him. He's finding it really tough learning to fly but just like you he's determined!

Embedding hard words

When talking about the picutres try to use the same tense as the book does - dont' say 'He's bouncing' better to say "look at him bounce".
