Priscilla Queen of the Desert is all systems go at the moment. Everything is gearing up for the first preview night on March 10th.
There’s a great interview with Zoe Birkett in the Northern Echo today. She’s come a long way from the 16 year old contestant in the first ever Pop Idol. (She came 4th) Zoe, who’s from Darlington, is 23 now. Priscilla will be her first big West End role although she’s been on tour with Thriller Live recently. Zoe’s been working hard behind the scenes for months. She explains:
“The part that I play has so many quick changes that I need a face mask that already has make-up, false eyelashes, so that I can whip one off and put the next one on. I think it’s fantastic and I can’t wait but I couldn’t believe it when I was told ‘you’re going for your head cast next week’. I thought originally it was to do with the massive headdresses we’re going to wear,” .
She’s really looking forward to playing a diva and singing songs like I Will Survive
Hi i think priscilla is great,but not enough comments on zoe birkett, she has a fab voice so powerful,i dont think she has got the full reconision for her part.
