Priscilla Queen of The Desert has now been confirmed to open in London at the Palace Theatre from March 24th, 2009 and will be starring none other than Jason Donovan, the former Neighbours star in the lead role as ‘Tick’.
Tony Sheldon will play Bernadette and Oliver Thornton will be the third member of the team onboard a bus called Priscilla, travelling through the outback desert to Alice Springs, transported to the London Stage by the Melbourne Theatre Company’s Simon Phillips.

My randam converstions on the tube reagrding this laugh out loud colourful musical must have been overheard any boys ‘n’ gals out there who are a fan of the movie will love this production & if the team bring over the funky cocktail bar for interval drinks then we are on a winner.

I went to see this show in Sydney & what a great production!!! This is a MUST see & features some Kylie songs moulded into the show.Its going to be a sure hit here.

I too saw it in Sydney…it will be AMAZING to see in London if they are true to the Sydney production and it will run for years. Great musical with Kylie mixed in for good measure (we ALL know those ubiquitous disco tracks…straight, gay, bi or indifferent, it is a production for all to enjoy). Fantastic stage production…all I will say regarding the evolution of the films original costumes

How about Jason Donovan in Priscilla the Musical for London then, wow! And the Palace Theatre is a prime West End spot which has seen the biggest shows like Les Miz and Spamalot recently, so this is going to be HUGE.
I’ve got my tickets!! Can’t wait! Better start making my costume now…

I saw the show in Auckland in July and saw it again in Sydney last weekend and love it. I wasn’t a fan of the film, but this show is so much better – fantastic night out.
I’m returning to UK in March 2009 and have already booked my tickets to see it.
