Oliver! The Musical Theatre Breaks and Full Cast List
Oliver the Musical London Theatre Breaks

** Book Oliver! London Theatre Breaks **
When people were choosing the next Nancy for the stage musical of Oliver!, I wonder how many of them thought of taking London theatre breaks to really see the show properly. Cameron Mackintosh’s revival of Lionel Bart’s family musical Oliver! will make a great theatre show for a family visit to London. Rehearsals are underway already and the previews start in December. One of the best ways of getting tickets for the Friday and Saturday shows is to book them as part of all inclusive London theatre breaks. This is because the hotel and show package agencies have tickets for popular dates you might otherwise struggle to get.
Oliver with Jodie Prenger tip
Top tip – if you can’t get tickets for a Saturday try booking for the Friday. You can really make a weekend of it and can often stay the Saturday night as well for just a bit more.
Remember if you want to see Jodie Prenger don’t book Wednesday or Thursday evenings. If you don’t mind you can sometimes pick up a bargain for those shows and Tamsin Carrol (Nancy alternate) has a great voice!
When booking for whichever dates you have chosen, you will then be presented with the hotel options and here are some suggestions which may help with making that decision:
Hotels for Oliver! theatre breaks
These are just a few of the possible hotels for your stay in London to see Oliver! the musical. Your choice depends partly on whether you want to be handy for the West End or if you prefer to be nearer your train station. I think the hotels nearer the West End are often a better idea. These ones are all within a short walk but the choice is vast and most are very good.
The Buckingham – 4* elegant Georgian townhouse hotel in the Bloomsbury area. This area is a short walk from the theatre and handy for lots of attractions.
The Grange Holborn Hotel – 5* modern, high rise, luxury hotel. More affordable than you’d think. Handy for central London attractions and the theatre. This one has amazing facilities including a Roman Art Deco pool and steam rooms!
Holiday Inn Bloomsbury – 4* modern hotel just off Russell Square. It is only a short walk from the West End and is close to London parks.

Sarah Lark is also the Understudy Nancy…
I want to make sure I see both Jodie and Gwion in February how do I do that?
who is singing role of Oliver on April 9th 2009?
it is a different lot of children who haven’t been auditioned yet
We don’t know who is preforming because we finish in march so another lot of kids who still haven’t been auditioned yet will be in it.
gosh… i envy u kids.. wish i can perform at something like west end stage at your age.. too late already. only if i got any chance. sigh..
does that mean the olivers will change too?
I went to see the Saturday matinee on 24th Jan, it was fantastic, the whole cast were so good. Artful dodger (Ross McCormack) is a great young actor and I really enjoyed watching him. Nipper is great too, unsure who played him. It was Tanners Team. Laurence who was Oliver, gave a good performance . We loved Rowan Atkinson in his role of Fagin. The part of Bill was played by Jay Bryce and he again was great.Nancy was good too and I can see her really grwoing in to the role. Well done everyone.
Does anyone know what happened to Kwayezda as he doesnt appear to be one of the boys, yet all the other finalist Olivers are in one team or another.
I would absoloutly love to be in Oliver in the west end! The thing is, ive only started my theatre school in Janruary. I would love to be on the westend and I hope some day I will be. Do you have to go to a theatre school to be in west end production such as Oliver??
p.s Dan farari is fit!! lol x
Who did Jay Bryce play?! Or what did he do?!! lolx
aww! thats unfair! I know he had to be a young boy and obviously his voice couldnmt of been broken but aww bless him! He didnt get to be in the show
poor thing!! x
I went to see Tanners team and they were absoloutly BRILLIANT! I wish i could go again! It was fantastic! The little yougest boy who copied Rowen Atkinson in part of it was sooooo cute he was so small and adorable!!

Hi all,
Going to see ‘Oliver!’ at 7.30pm on Tuesday 7th April, and I am really looking forward to it! I have bought the OLC CD and I listen to it all of the time! After recently playing Mr. Bumble in a local production of ‘Oliver!’, I look forward to going through the words in my head
I know that the Oliver and Dodger aren’t revealed until the actual date, but does anybody have any idea on who may be performing? I am dying to know!!
Thanks,
Tom.
In case anybody doesn’t know, two new Olivers have been cast!
Laurence Jeffcoate has now left the company, and JAMES DONAGHEY and FRANCESCO- PIACENTINI SMITH have been cast.
Gwion Wyn Jones and Harry Stott still star in the show (until July)
Tom C.
Saw the show on Saturday, can’t fault anyone it was fantastic. Ross played the artful doger (the curly hair gave that away) So I think I had Tanners (I think). However Oliver was played by a boy called James which confused me greatly as they were not in the BBC show. His preformance was amazing and I enjoyed it. However I am still left wondering who should have been Oliver and what happend to them. Any ideas out there?
If you read my above comment, that will answer your question!! How was Tim Laurenti (Fagin standby), as I am going to see it tomorrow and I was wondering what he is like (as Rowan is now off for 3 weeks because of illness!!)? Glad that you enjoyed it!
I saw you commnet right after I posted mine. How do people find these things out?
Tim Laurenti was great he got the one of the biggest cheers of the night along side Jodie. James and Ross got the loudest
There is one scene that Tim did so well, you will know it when you see it, wait till he gets he opara glasses out.
I was a bit confused when I got all the bits of paper saying who the cast were as I will still expecting the “old” cast. If I go again to see Rowan I wonder how will be Oliver by then. Shame thwy went through the whole BBC show just to either leave after 3 mounths or get some one completly new.
Have great fun tommorow and remember to sing along.
I just simply looked on the Oliver! website and saw that Laurence’s name had been removed and James’/ Francesco’s added! I
I will look out for Tim’s scene- thanks for telling me about him!
And I agree, it is a shame that all of the Olivers only have short performance periods, but apparently Laurence left because he had a sudden growth spurt and was too tall…Harry and Gwion are supposed to be leaving in July with Rowan (however, if Harry’s voice breaks or he grows then he will leave earlier and Francesco (whom he shares one of the groups with) will fully take his place).
I’m sure I will sing along, and thanks for replying so quickly!!

Hey,
Sorry, but I cannot answer your question, but if it is Gwion, you have a fantastic night ahead of you!
I saw him on the 7th with Robert Madge as Dodger and he was FAB!! His singing was so cute, and although I didn’t really like him before e.g. on ‘I’d do Anything’, he certainly made me change my mind!
Well whoever it is playing Oliver, have a good time!
x
Please can someone tell me when Jay Bryce plays Bill Sykes as I would to buy my mother a ticket Aug / Sept for her 70th Birthday.
Thank You
