Michael Jackson has died in hospital after suffering a heart attack.
When paramedics arrived at his house “he was not breathing”, LA fire department captain Steve Ruda told the LA Times newspaper.
Jackson was given CPR by fire department paramedics as he was taken to UCLA Medical Center. The 911 call came in at 8.21pm from his Holmbly Hills home in LA.
Currently playing at the Lyric Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue the Michael Jackson musical Thriller Live is billed as a “stage and video spectacular celebrating the legendary career of the King of Pop”.
Jackson was due to make a comeback at the London O2 arena next month with 50 concert performances.
Whether the London theatre shows will be cancelled for the rest of the week are not currently known.
