Dreamboats And Petticoats - theatre breaks

Dreamboats & Petticoats arrives in London’s West End for a short season after touring the UK. The Savoy Theatre hosts the popular show from July 22nd 2009.

Dreamboats and Petticoats is a musical show which derives from a hit album which sold more than half a million copies after its release last year, an amazing number in these days of digital downloads, ipods and file sharing. The theme which pulls al the songs together is an era, the late rock and roll / early sixties music scene when smash hits propelled youthful artists to instant fame and teenagers had just been invented.

A second album was released and shot to number two in the charts. Featuring well loved UK stars Billy Fury, Adam Faith, Joe Brown, Helen Shapiro, and a handful of US stars like Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, Bobby Darin and Chuck Berry, the two albums together and now the West End Musical showcase the hugely popular bands of the era.

Now this may sound exactly like the classic “juke box musical” but the story and script for Dreamboats and Petticoats has been put together by the team behind TV shows Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds of a Feather and Shine On Harvey Moon so a proper story with humour and notalgia is guaranteed.

Dreamboats and Petticoats Theatre Breaks are on sale now for dates right up until 26th Nov 2011.
