what a dissapointment. the whole concept sounds dumb. for decades i've pictured a screenplay where the two adolescent and musical Davies brothers watch the foibles of their flirtatious older sister, who is riding the last of the swing era dance waves. the blokes who "end up blowing all his wages for the week", the tearing down of the palais, which parralels the emergence of the artists who would become "the kinks". i've always loved the song "come dancing" because it stimulated my imagination into the time period surrounding the song.
