Thinking About Dirty Dancing Theatre Breaks
People considering Dirty Dancing theatre breaks are usually looking for a lively night out. Dirty Dancing doesn’t disappoint on that score. Of course the dance routines are one of the main attractions but there’s also lots of singing along and opportunities for audience interaction. The twists and turns of the dance based romance also bring lots of laughter and maybe a few tears along the way.
Dirty Dancing All the Way!
After a high energy treat like an evening at Dirty Dancing it’s time to hit the town. The show ends just as the capital is just coming to life.
Now it’s your turn to dance! There are several great clubs near the theatre and they will just be coming to life as the show ends. Doesn’t that sound more fun than grabbing a train and setting off on a long journey home?
This is why Dirty Dancing Theatre Breaks with inclusive overnight London hotel stays are usually the best way to plan and book tickets. When booking for whichever dates you have chosen, you will then be presented with the hotel options and here are some suggestions which may help with making that decision:
Hotels for Dirty Dancing Theatre Breaks
* Strand Palace -In the same street as the theatre for Dirty Dancing, this classic hotel is right in the West End and close to the shops at Covent Garden.
* Crowne Plaza London City – just opposite Blackfriars Bridge and near lots of the London attractions.
These are both 4* hotels so ideal for a treat. They are also handy for nightlife and of course the shops.
* Travelodge Euston is a 3* hotel near to Euston station and about a mile or so from the West End.
If you decide to go for one further out because it is cheaper remember that you might have to spend the savings on black cabs or face the busy weekend tubes. That may be fine if you just want to get away back home the next morning but why not pack your dark glasses, be gentle with your hangover and make a proper break out of it? Stay in London for the day to see the sights and hit the shops. The hotels near the theatre are also handy for both. If you’ve time check out the possibility of staying an extra night or two, it can be well worth it.
Dirty Dancing Theatre Breaks for groups

Last time I went to see Dirty Dancing there were clearly lots of hen parties and stag nights obviously having a fantastic night out. With these Dirty Dancing theatre breaks, the excitement just builds with the numbers. For the hotel stay, any number can work with a combination of triple and twin bedded rooms. Multiples of three are ideal because then you can go for several triple rooms, which saves a bit on the costs.
You can travel by train on Friday afternoon then have a night out clubbing on Friday. Saturday is for serious shopping and playing at being ladies who lunch or take afternoon tea somewhere posh. See Dirty Dancing on Saturday night, followed by another club after if you are up to it or have a party back at the hotel bar. Sunday is for gentle sight-seeing and a good pub lunch before your train home on Sunday evening.

Dirty Dancing – a London theatre breaks favourite.
Dirty Dancing is one of the best selling musicals for London theatre breaks. People travelling from all over the UK for hotel and theatre breaks in London just love it, but in particular there’s a big fan base in Yorkshire
.
Leeds, Sheffield, Bradford and Huddersfield etc all provide small parties of enthusiastic fans coming down the East Coast rail line to Kings Cross to spend a night out at the Aldwych Theatre with the fabulous Dirty Dancing show. Who’d have guessed it? I thought Billy Elliot might be the number one choice but I’d have been wrong. Maybe it’s that we Northerners know good value when we see it and like to have a bit of fun on our nights out and Dirty Dancing definitely delivers on both scores. Prices for one night breaks start from as low as £122:50 per person including the hotel!
Just have a look at this video clip:

I so love the way that section in the car looks! How super cool is that?
(Full disclosure – I’m not from Yorkshire, I’m from even further North!)

Dirty Dancing theatre breaks extended until 2009
I can’t believe it’s nearly a year and a half since Dirty Dancing opened, and now this most popular West End musical has been extended until at least 17th October 2009. Chances are they’ll still be selling out during the London Olympics!
Dirty Dancing Story
The story of Dirty Dancing is set in the early nineteen sixties, with teenager Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman with her family at a holiday camp. Then she falls in love with a streetwise dance teacher from the wrong side of town.
Nobody puts baby in the corner
The music from the blockbuster film Dirty Dancing has been rewritten for the winning West End stage production.
Dirty Dancing stars are currently Josef Brown as Johnny Castle and Sarah Manton as Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman. James Powell directs, with choreography by Kate Champion.
Theatre breaks to Dirty Dancing are the most popular yet, perhaps due to the nostalgic setting, feel-good storyline, great music and not forgetting of course the sensual, raunchy Dirty Dancing itself, live on stage with all the breathtaking lifts and manoevres from the 1980’s film version reproduced stunningly on the live stage. Definitely a special night out for either couples or single sex groups.
