Abigail’s London Theatre Breaks Party

An invitation to Abigail’s Party could be scheduled into London Theatre Breaks, have you thought about that? It’s not part of the regular West End scene, and actually south of the river, but then again so is the Globe Theatre, Shakespeare’s replica thatched building where you can stand up for three hours if you are lucky enough to get a ticket.

Abigail’s Party is a well known modern classic drama which started out as a Television play in the 1960s by Mike Leigh. It was a remarkably piece of social observation and an exercise in relentlessly building pace and tension, and it still is.

Now being performed in historic Greenwich, an essential place to visit anyway during your London break. The Greenwich Theatre is situated close to the Cutty Sark docklands light railway (DLR) station which is great for exploring the Maritime museum, Royal Naval college and Greenwich Observatory.

Abigail’s Party opens on October 16th 2007, just around the time when the autumn evenings are drawing well in and there’s not so much to do in the great outdoors. Now is a great time to be planning London Theatre breaks with Abigail’s Party in Greenwich, to maybe coincide on a single london weekend break with the Tutankhamun exhibition at the O2.
