The Story of A Little Night Music

Based on Ingmar Bergman’s film Smiles of a Summer Night, A Little Night Music is set in turn-of-the-century Sweden. The show has been described as ” a fairy tale for adults”. Middle-aged Fredrik Egerman brings his 18-year-old bride Anne to a play starring his former mistress, DesirĂ©e Armfeldt. Soon, Fredrik and DesirĂ©e resume their romance, incurring the wrath of her current lover, a pompous Count. The couples, various, all come together at a country estate weekend party. And there, under the summer night, things are set to right as a kind of midsummer magic works on them all.

The Songs of A Little Night Music
