Dirty Dancing theatre breaks extended until 2009 April 26, 2008
Posted by admin in : Dirty Dancing, adelphi , add a commentI can’t believe it’s nearly a year and a half since Dirty Dancing opened, and now this most popular West End musical has been extended until at least 17th October 2009. Chances are they’ll still be selling out during the London Olympics!
Dirty Dancing Story
The story of Dirty Dancing is set in the early nineteen sixties, with teenager Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman with her family at a holiday camp. Then she falls in love with a streetwise dance teacher from the wrong side of town.
Nobody puts baby in the corner
The music from the blockbuster film Dirty Dancing has been rewritten for the winning West End stage production.
Dirty Dancing stars are currently Josef Brown as Johnny Castle and Sarah Manton as Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman. James Powell directs, with choreography by Kate Champion.
Theatre breaks to Dirty Dancing are the most popular yet, perhaps due to the nostalgic setting, feel-good storyline, great music and not forgetting of course the sensual, raunchy Dirty Dancing itself, live on stage with all the breathtaking lifts and manoevres from the 1980’s film version reproduced stunningly on the live stage. Definitely a special night out for either couples or single sex groups.
