How to Join Flickr

Flickr is a photo sharing site where groups can come together to make collections of photos and have discussions. (If you are still not sure what Flickr is have a look at the video further down the page.) Now you know why you should join Flickr here is a video that explains exactly how to join Flickr:

You can store up to 200 photos on Flickr with a free account and that’s a great place to start.  In the longer term you might want to upgrade to a Pro account. This lets you upload as many photos as you like as often as you like and costs $24.95 a year.

How to Share:

Once you’ve joined Flickr and uploaded you photos you’ll need to know how to share them with the group:

To add a photo to the group:
1) Click on the thumbnail of your own photo.

2) Above it, you should see some icons - “Add note” “send to group” “Add to set” etc.

Choose “Send to group” and a list of groups you belong to should appear. If you have a slow connection thsi may say “loading…..” for a while first.

3) Choose the Classroom Displays group and click.

Done.
Permissions Reminder
It would be really helpful if you could enable “allow blogging’ for photos you post to the group. This would mean I could use them in the Classroom Displays blog.

Can I also remind people the auto default copyright on Flickr is All RIghts Reserved. Please consider a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0 Licence for photos posted to the group. This allows people to use your images for non-commercial purposes so long as they attribute them to you.
Flickr itself already insists on a link back to Flickr for any photo shown on a 3rd party site in the terms and conditions.

Why Share?

Here’s a video that explains why Flickr works better than sharing your photos the old fashioned way :
